Ste. Genevieve Art Guild Homepage

A non-profit organization 501(c)(3), the Ste. Genevieve
Art Guild, is a group of area artists and art enthusiasts
who are committed to the arts
, & the history and legacy
of the creative spirits who have lived and worked in this
area before us.

Art and Ste Genevieve have been synonymous since
the early 1930's with the establishment of the Ste
Genevieve Art Colony and Summer School of Art.

The charm of our small town, along the banks of the
Mississippi River, appealed to such artists as Jessie
Beard Rickly, Amie Schweig, Bernard Peters, Thomas
Hart Benton, Joe Jones, Matthew Zeigler, Roscoe
Misselhorn
, Sigfried Rhinehart & others, who all found
it a wonderful place to paint.

Today's Ste Genevieve Art Guild continues to uphold
that tradition.  We encourage creativity and emerging
talent through our annual events, monthly meetings
and scholarship fund.

Artists of the Guild are regularly seen painting within
the gardens of historic homes or along the
picturesque streets and country lanes of Ste
Genevieve County.

Our connections to the
Ste. Genevieve Artist Colony of
the 1930s and 1940s are highlighted each year in our
annual
Promenade des Art.
