June 2007 - STE GENEVIEVE ART GUILD NEWSLETTER
Summer is here. It is time to think plein air. And speaking of plein air, Chuck Drost gave a
very exciting workshop on perspective on June 2. The weather was great and everyone had a
good time, and learned something they will be able to use in the future. A very big THANK
YOU to chuck for sharing his time and abilities with us.
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS! THE PATKE ROOM IS BACK! Meetings have been changed to
the fourth Tuesday of the month in order for the art guild to have the larger and much brighter
Patke Room again. The Patke Room is located in the County Services Building. Meetings
will still begin at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully this will not be an inconvenience for anyone. We tried to
keep the Wednesday evening meeting to no avail.
The meetings have been more interesting now that we have added short demos and other
art related activities. We encourage those who haven't been able to attend to try and make
future meetings. Hopefully we will always have something of interest at each one.
The theme for the Christmas Art Walk has been selected. This years inspiration will be "The
Hills of Ste. Genevieve." Two plein air paintouts have been planned for the summer, June 27,
10:00 a.m. at the Old Cemetery and July 25, 10:00 a.m. at the Tiger Reserve in Bloomsdale.
Keep the theme of the Christmas Show in mind as you paint!
A Theatrical Troupe would like artists to hang and display art at the Middle School during their
